Meet the Newest Pinoy Superhero

GMA introduces the newest Pinoy superhero — “Carlo J. Caparas’ Gagambino.” The much anticipated graphic novel from OFW Komiks will feature Dennis Trillo in his first ever title role project and will bring to life the charming and heroic character of Bino.

Following the success of Magdusa Ka at the Dramarama block, Dennis Trillo now returns to primetime to give life to one of Carlo J. Caparas’ masterpiece — Gagambino.

A Graphic Novel

Multi-awarded comic genius Carlo J. Caparas has entrusted another one of his classic stories to GMA Network. His previous works that have become primetime blockbusters are Joaquin Bordado, Kamandag, and Bakekang.

This time around, his graphic novel Gagambino from OFW Super Stories will be given life by GMA’s drama prince Dennis Trillo and a host of A-list actors and actresses.

“Ito ay isang original ni Carlo J. Caparas… Ako si Bino at meron syang alagang higanteng gagamba, na yun ‘yung tumutulong sa kanya para makipaglaban sa mga kaaway nya, and eventually ‘yung powers ng gagamba mapupunta sa kanya. Magiging powerful sya at habang tumatakbo ‘yung istorya, marami syang makakalaban na mga makukulay na characters, mga villains… [at] nakaka-develop din sya ng mga bagong powers,” says Dennis of his character in an exclusive iGMA interview.

He continues that this telefantasya is his biggest break in Philippine television and is grateful that GMA entrusted him to play the lead role of the much-anticipated show. “Sa tinagal-tagal ko sa GMA, ngayon lang ako nagkaroon ng ganitong kalaking project,” beams the award-winning actor.

Gagambino, the Superhero

A tale of heroism, friendship, love and deceit, Gagambino is the story of Bino, an orphan who was given extraordinary powers when he was a child in a magical place called Tierra Higanta. It is in this place that he met his faithful friend, a gigantic spider.

As he matures, Bino, together with his giant friend, uses his powers to help people and eradicate crime in the city. His courage and crime-fighting efforts raise him to the level of the newest Pinoy superhero.

But Gagambino will not be alone in his mission to rid the world of the criminals and power-hungry beings. He will be helped by a group of humans with superpowers as well. There’s Harold ( Polo Ravales), who has beetle-like skills, bullet-proof body, and the power to fly.

Another is Lucy (Katrina Halili), who has deadly blades for arms and the ability to jump high. Other heroines are the bee-like Leah ( Glaiza de Castro and the scorpion-like Bernadette (Isabel Oli). Together, they will try to defeat Abresia (Jean Garcia) who is a powerful and wicked superhuman. – iGMA.tv
