“I’ve been told May 5 is open,” ani Mayweather. “Losing is in Pacquiao’s mind because he lost just last week. He lost to Marquez three times. May 5 is the date, sign the contract, I’m waiting.”

(CNN) — Floyd Mayweather has hinted that his long-awaited showdown with Manny Pacquiao could take place in May next year.
In a video message linked from his official Twitter page Mayweather, a five-division world champion and the current WBO welterweight champion, called on the Filipino to make the fight happen.
Pacquiao, who has won titles at eight divisions, recently registered a controversial defeat of Juan Manuel Marquez, stating afterward he was keen to take on Mayweather.
The pair had agreed to fight in March 2010 but it was called off due to a dispute about pre-bout blood tests. Now, Mayweather has called on his rival to sign a contract.

The pair have impressive records, Mayweather having won all 42 of his fights while Pacquiao has been victorious in 54 of his 59 bouts.
Both have been touted as the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world and should a deal be signed the fight is sure to intrigue the sport’s fans around the globe.
After Pacquiao’s points victory over Marquez, his trainer Freddie Roach said he hoped a clash with Mayweather would come to fruition.
“I hope that fight does happen,” said Roach. “I think it would be the best fight in the world and I would love to see it.”
Pacquiao also said he was keen to test himself against Mayweather: “Let’s get it on. Make the fight happen and let’s give people a good fight,” he said.
Meanwhyile, David Haye is pondering coming out of retirement to fight WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko.
Haye retired on his 30th birthday in October last year after losing to Vitali’s brother Wladimir. But he told the BBC he will get back into the ring to take on Vitali if a deal can be reached between their respective camps.
“I haven’t seen a contract but there’s definitely talks going on,” he said. “I said before I retired I would love that fight and there’s a date in March that’s already been talked about.”
