[Pinoy is a term used by Filipinos for their compatriots in the Philippines and around the world. Filipinos usually refer to themselves informally as Pinoy (feminine: Pinay), which is formed by taking the last four letters of the word 'Pilipino' and adding the diminutive suffix]

It really was just a need that I had to read news and articles about what is going on in the Philippines. When thePinoy.com started, it was just a page with links to popular newspapers published in the Philippines. The site grew as we added more links, we created a Directory of Philippine and Filipino oriented sites. We added links to streaming broadcast and more interesting sections like the ‘Pasyal Tayo’ series where we show places and things of interests. We partnered with technology companies to provide resources to enhance out system.

With all these innovations that the Internet and these companies afford us, we’ve stucked with our primary vision, to deliver the latest news and relevant information directly from the source.

Every morning we visit many news sites, we pick out the interesting Pinoy stories and link them here. We cover everything from the usual dirty politics, religion and to the ever popular showbiz news.

Basically, we’ll try to get in to your heads as Filipinos and customize a simple site that would have almost anything you need before you type those other URLs.

Maraming Salamat Po!
