Following two months of dry spell, residents in Makati suburban Manila ride an improvised raft to navigate streets submerged by floodwaters after heavy rains around the capital in August 2007. Tropical storm Hanna was poised to hit the northern Philippines Saturday, bringing heavy rain and raising fears of mudslides, government agencies warned.(AFP/File/Romeo Gacad )
