Little flute seller

305797345_8975cb3df6.jpgJojo Andrada via Flickr – She tried to sell me a flute (which I declined). Later on in the afternoon, these kids (flutesellers) got excited over the camera I carried and were clamouring for their pictures to be taken. I took a lot of pictures of these children.

Over to one side, I spied the littlest flute seller who sat apart (on the sidewalk) from the group of kids. She was playing her flute, and she played it very well too. On impulse, I took this shot.

It was only later on in the evening that I finally got to view the large image on my computer. I was surprised to see the tears.

I wanted to kick myself for not buying that flute.

  2. Carlo says:

That sucks. Oh man, now I’m going to cry too. :-( :-(

  3. Linda says:

Oh the poor children of my country.

  4. Chief says:

at least they are trying to make a living.not like those A -hole politician who steal money from us..the money they are stealing can feed and educate these poor children of ours

  5. Tom says:

I’m not impressed that these kids are trying to make a living. They should be in school!

  6. Mel says:

Sorry Jojo the picture you sent didn’t impressed me at all. You seemed to modify the it using Adobe Photoshop or any other digital pix editing program. Those tears may not be there at all in the first place. Best you post the actual unedited picture.

  7. Bubuli says:

i think you should also kick yourself for doing that hideous post-processing of the image.

  8. Sophia says:

I think the point was we need to sometimes give pause and challenge ourselves to focus on the important things. The photographer was I believe honestly conveying his frustration on a missed opportunity to do something good.

  9. OPP says:

I say the main problem with the homeland is, aside from the obvious corruption and ignorance, is over population.

The church needs to start supporting family planning. We need to get more people educated so they’ll stop voting for the most popular person like it’s a damned high school election. If Pacman ran the next elections, I’d be suprised if he doesn’t win. No one seems to need credentials or the proper education anymore. Instead of the party systems that we have we should just have the GMA(kapuso) political party and the ABS-CBN(kapamilya) political party.

  10. Dong says:

Eh? OPP, medyo nasobrahan yata ang pag-digress mo a. LOL

  11. Shane says:

On OPP. Talk about missing the point.

  12. OPP says:

I know I’m way off topic. Maybe that would’ve went better with the typhoon stories.

I need to randomly rant and let it out.

Although it the issue is like a dozen times removed, I think the whole thing is driven by overpopulation.

We assume that she cries, if she really does, because of poverty, not because her salesmanship wasn’t good enough for Jojo. She carries more responsibilities and worries about more problems than a White guy going through Mid Age Crisis.

All driven by poverty which caused by #1 overpopulation and then #2 the peoples tendancy to vote for the least qualified or most corrupt but most popular. Really now:

    You know this

    Pres.: Erap
    Vice: Noli De Castro
Sen. : friggin VST Tito Sotto among dozens of other personalities
Gov. : Ate V among others

And back in the country and Politics… The Marcos Family…

    WTF…

I should be getting back to work.

  13. Tom says:

Yes OPP, you SHOULD be getting back to work. While you’re at it, learn how to use a spell checker and pick-up a grammar book while you’re at it. Peace!

  14. OPP says:

    To: Tom

    Wow, feisty one.

I may have misspelled a few words and maybe my grammar isn’t up to par to whoever else’s or not to anyone’s liking but I got opinions now that I want to express and I am not going to wait a semester or year after taking damned classes before I’m going to make them.

I don’t believe that you have a hard time understanding the message I’m trying to send across so please comment on the message and not on my style of writing for that would be the most trivial of all.

    Word is bond~~Payce nukk…

    I love Pinoy.net

  15. Tom says:

Ok. sorry that was low. Peace! ;-)

  16. Chief says:
