Arroyo assures families evicted near Palace of relocation
(via INQ7) PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Tuesday assured squatter families whose shanties near Malacañang were demolished two months ago of relocation.
Arroyo gave the assurance during an informal interaction on Aguado Street with officials of Barangay 642, which is near the Palace.
Several women, many of them with children in tow, endured hunger and heat to see Arroyo.
They were among 76 families who asked for new homes after the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) demolished their shanties in August for encroaching on the easement of a government property.
