Dancing prisoners send viral thrill through net

The adventures of a group of dancing Filipino prisoners have become the latest viral video sensation on the internet.

The videos, apparently shot in the prison yard of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Centre in the Philippines, show several large-scale dance routines with impressive choreography. (more…)

Arroyo report: Philippines on right track

President Arroyo on Monday said she sees the Philippines “well on its way” to becoming a developed country by the end of her term in 2010.

Mrs. Arroyo, wearing a red Filipiniana dress, walked to the House of Representatives’ plenary hall accompanied by Senators Lito Lapid and Miriam Defensor-Santiago. Her husband, Jose Miguel, was also with her. (more…)

102-year-old woman among first to get new passport

Filipino family win fight to stay

A Filipino nurse and his family living in Carmarthenshire who were told they must leave the UK have won their campaign against deportation.

Hundreds of people joined the fight to allow Aldrin Quibuyen, 36, to remain in Ammanford, where he has lived with his wife and two children for four years. (more…)
